Melinda Ramhit is the Vice President, RCM Consulting at SCALE RCM.
Melinda’s deep experience in healthcare and RCM enables her to bring a multi-disciplinary approach to help her clients identify and realize RCM performance improvement opportunities. Melinda has worked across 35+ practice specialties including: Dermatology, Dental, Gastroenterology, Hospitalists, Internal Medicine, Mental Health, Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Substance Abuse & Urology. Her early experience as a biller, coupled with data analytics training from her masters in epidemiology gives her both a deep understanding of the challenges inherent in RCM execution and a unique ability to identify anomalies in reimbursement. Over the years Melinda has leveraged her project
management and analytics skills to help organizations realize millions of dollars in revenue.
Melinda joined SCALE RCM in 2021 and has led various projects including a 2-year engagement to migrate 3 divisions of a 76 physician MSO to a single practice-management platform. The project scope included standardizing all RCM processes, negotiating bolt-on application contracts, and gaining physician buy-in. On a fee-schedule optimization project for a multistate gastroenterology MSO, Melinda uncovered a reimbursement variance with a major payor and helped the client recapture material underpayments resulting in both substantial one-time and annual recurring value.
Melinda began her RCM career as a biller with CSI Medical Billing in 2012 while she pursued her Master’s in Public Health. At CSI she had direct responsibility for accounts receivable for more than 10 practices across a variety of specialties. With her ability to spot inconsistencies and her dogged pursuit of resolution, she soon became the company’s specialist in recovering AR for problem practices.
She also served as a Managed Care Analyst at ABS Billing Services. There she ran large analytics projects for Boston Children’s Health Physicians, a multi-specialty pediatric managed care organization with >400 providers. Melinda later worked in the healthcare non-profit sector as a Senior Analyst in survey outcomes and research.
Melinda studied at New York Medical College where she earned a Masters in Epidemiology. She also holds a BS in Health Studies with a concentration in Public Health from the University of Delaware.
